MIDHOS: Metabolism | Inflammation | Digital Health I Osteology, is an interdisciplinary research consortium bringing together expertise in fundamental science, translational research, and clinical application at the University of Bern and Inselspital.

As the home of
- MeHDI: Metabolic Health, Digitization & Inflammation Cluster and
- ORN: Osteology Research Network,
MIDHOS fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across musculoskeletal health, metabolic disease, inflammation, digital health, and related fields. A central focus of the consortium is the study of metaflammation, a chronic, low-grade inflammation driven by metabolic dysfunction, and its role in the development of complex chronic and age-related diseases.

By integrating molecular, clinical, and digital approaches, MIDHOS aims to advance systems medicine and support the development of preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic strategies that address determinants of metaflammation, promote healthy ageing, improve health outcomes, and enhance patient wellbeing.
